Blue Wing Frog in Front Royal

My favorite place in the area. The shrimp salad or shrimp dinner plate is my first choice. Great staff! Always a fun visit.

Top top place. Great options .. I recall stuffed pumpkin, and prawns dishes. Each one was better than the other. Ask them about bread options.

Great food! Would like to see more vegetarian options on the menu.

Extremely friendly service, really enjoyed 2/3 dishes! Shrimp tacos were spicy and flavorful. The burger was delicious, and you could tell it was quality beef.Scallops were a little cool, and left a little to be desired. Overall, delicious and we would come back!

Most amazing freshly made food 100% made in house (even the ketchup!) served in a totally down to earth atmosphere with the friendliest faces imaginable. No part of tonight's dining experience could have been improved. From our table we could see the big pile of veggies being chopped up. Never have I ever enjoyed eggplant or brussel sprouts until tonight.

Amazing restaurant with food that is fresh and deliciously spiced. The sauteed veggies melt in your mouth. Wonderful breads and accompanying sauces are made on site. The owners and staff are super friendly and they use compostable containers, utensils and straws when needed for takeout or take home.

Being from Louisiana we were tired of the boring food in Winchester so we drove to Front Royal and wasn't disappointed at all. This place is great place to stop after a long hike on the Skyline.As you can tell from the photo, the surf & surf was awesome. I highly recommend it to anybody who likes flavorful and healthy homegrown food. Everything is made in-house.

Stopped in for a late lunch and it was delicious! They have multiple vegetarian options on the menu and my husband said the grilled chicken sandwich was great, especially with the amazing homemade hot sauce! The mulled cider was also delectable, though very much on the sweet side. Staff was very friendly and gave us the details on how everything worked (get your menu at the counter, self serve ice and water, seat yourself, order and pay at the counter). Very enjoyable!

came in & sat down quickly not busy at all for a saturday night. ordered our food & apps right away. apps came out normal & on time the food TOOK FOREVER! We were sitting waiting for our food for at least an hour and a half which made our stay over 2 hours. Given that they were not busy & there was four of us. 3 of us even ordered the same meal. The food was oily and very over priced given the fact that it came out on paper plates. I will say there was large portions & good food for gluten free people. the CDC does not require paper plates or for your food to take so long!!

The banana espresso cake is best cake ever!! While looking for a great place to eat in Front Royal we stumbled on the Blue Wing Frog. If you’re not in a hurry and enjoy really great food…this is the place to go! We have been there three times and been extremely satisfied each time. Recommend the fruit and cheese plate, salads, and the banana espresso cake! We have ordered the cake two times for entertaining at home— its the BEST! Everyone that works there is great too!

This place is seriously amazing! The staff is the sweetest and you can tell they love what they do. The owners want to make sure you are having a good time and enjoying some delicious food. Be sure to check out the massive picnic table. Can’t wait to go back!

We ended up here by mistake but how happy were we!! The food, all in season, was absolutely delicious. I had the burger, but tried both the chicken sandwich, and the catfish. All were delicious and served with fresh, homemade bread. We will for sure be back! Thank you for a wonderful evening!

We've been ordering a weekly take out dinner to bring variety to our cook at home meals during quarantine. Every single thing we have ordered has met or exceeded our expectations. In particular, the "dinners for two" are priced at about what you might expect for a dinner for one and leave ample, delicious leftovers. Thanks to Kelly and Robert and their team.

I stop here whenever I find myself in Front Royal. The service is often very slow, but the food doesn't disappoint! It is worth the wait, and the people have always been very friendly. Give them a shot! I often go for the mountain of veggies. It is not a joke, and big enough to split with someone.

We discovered this hidden gem a few years ago on a cabin trip with friends. Every year we return while we’re in town. Everything is so delicious and made from scratch, even the condiments! We’ve fallen so in love with Front Royal that we’re building a second home there, and we will be in Blue Wing Frog more frequently!! The carrot cake is the BEST I’ve ever had. The shrimp appetizer (skrimps) are to die for. The cookies are uniquely delicious. They are a small team but they get the job done and then some. We love supporting this small business!!

Dropped in for a dinner and was blown away by the quality of the ingredients and the care given to the preparation! Skrimp app was awesome. Grass fed beef—amazing. Top it off with a gluten free chocolate cake, and this place is simply remarkable for what it offers. Drive the 3 miles south from I-66; you won’t regret it!

Amazing food -- generous portions. Staff are incredible and I love that they have lots of sauces and breads made in house! The pickles and fruity hot sauce were great. Lots of vegetarian options too!

Very few places make ya feel right at home walking in. All the food is local sourced and made to order, even the ketchup and mustard is homemade! Every time I come to front royal, this is my first and last stop bc I’m surely to come and go with a full belly and a smile :)

Can't review the food as I was never served I know front royal isn't known for its customer service but this place takes the cake. I was asked ruldley if I had a mask i said no then they said sit outside we will be with you shortly they came outside twice gave people food and drinks never came to me finally I went back inside ordered a beer and a steak sat outside for ten minutes no beer he comes outside serves the other people then yells at me as he's going back inside that they are cooking my steak do I want anything to drink. I said i ordered a beer from you he was like I and went back inside. I left and came to the knotty pine had a cold beer and my food ordered immeaditly. They either wouldn't serve me cause im brown or because I was alone either way i hope they enjoy my steak

Wonderful place! Atmosphere, service & food were outstanding. Felt you were part of the family! Try the lobster roll! Everything made from scratch.

My husband and I stumbled on this little gem while in Front Royal today and decided to stop for lunch. We are so happy that we did! Robert and his crew are putting out some delicious food. We were able to sit outside on the patio and Robert and another patron spent some time talking with us about the restaurant and the area. Hubby had the Shrimp Po Boy which is one of their best sellers. It came with a full pound of shrimp! I ordered the Spanish Gazpacho (so good with just the right amount of garlic and heat) and the Cubano with fresh pork, ham and swiss cheese with pickles. Mine also came with a side of roasted potatoes that were sooo good. Oh and did I mention the home made ketchup? We will definitely be back.

Probably the best food I have had in ages. A perfect appetizer- perfect dinner- perfect dessert. Owners are personable and funny. I loved everything about our visit. There were 11 of us. And I loved the personal touch. Thank you so much for an amazing night. And being so welcoming to our brother moving to the area. He can’t gush enough over the Blue Wing Frog

Loved this place. Great food with attention paid to their craft. The rye bread they make for their Ruben and the pickles they make for the cubano are amazing highlights of dishes that are made from the ground up. They even make their own ketchup. The atmosphere feels like an open version of your aunt's kitchen. We were lucky to find this place when passing through.

We had our first sit down restaurant dinner at Blue Wing Frog, a tasty shrimp po’boy while strong on the patio. A lush pice of chocolate cake followed. Definitely worth a visit!

Blue Wing Frog catered our rehearsal dinner. They did an exceptional job. We asked for tacos (which wasn’t even on their catering menu) and she put together one of the best dinners I’ve ever had. My family was really happy with dinner and repeatedly commented on how tasty it all was! Kelly was also very organized and responsive. We loved working with her!

Amazing Food in a quaint restaurant in Front Royal. Tons of Vegan options!! Rather than paper napkins, everyone gets their silverware in a different cloth napkin roll (this is one of the many unique touches you'll find here). Our favorites were the house made salsa, the hummus and black bean quesadillas (loaded with peppers and sweet potatoes).

Small menu. But the food was good. The catfish with rice was the best food of the group. With the steak being a close second. They also make all their own sauces and condiments.

I got the black bean quesadilla and gazpacho soup and was very displeased with the portion size for the money. Everything tasted fine however for 20 dollars i kind of expect to be satiated at least. Black beans and sweet potatoes are two very cheap ingredients to begin with.

The Blue Wing Frog is an amazing place. The food is incredibly delicious. We had the death by Pork which was something like the daily special or so. The guy suggested to share the meal because it was that big and he was right. One meal fed two people. They also have a fair selection of veggie and vegan food. Even if they say that you have to order at the counter, we got served at the desk in a way you can’t find everywhere. The atmosphere was great. It got some alternate touch. Just awesome and highly recommend.

Amazing!! The best quality food in Front Royal. You must make a point to eat here if you are in the area. They also have amazing kid options. Tonight my 2 year old had the peanut butter apple sandwich and it came with a side of grapes, 2 generous cuts of pineapple and a strawberry. We love this place!

First spot we ate at after crawling off of the AT. I could not have asked for a kinder return to society. And NUTRITIOUS food that soothed our souls. Fresh and locally sourced. So good.

My girlfriend and I were fortunate enough to find this little gem on our road trip a week or two ago . I saw some negative reviews below , and am assuming some people do not understand or know how to appreciate fresh, natural flavors of nutrient dense food! The food was absolutely amazing , every bite was packed with explosive flavor. I’m an herbivore my girlfriend is a carnivore; I had a vegan quesadilla, she had a grass fed burger (she still talks about how great it was ) . We took some amazing falafels, and an amazing experience to go - and hit the road. Rob, we appreciate your time that you shared with us , your stories , and the amazing “hospitality.” We felt at home, on the road . Definitely recommend this place, we can’t wait to go back again!! What a great discovery! We needed to find a place to eat in Front Royal and took a chance on the Blue Wing Frog and were rewarded with great food and very friendly people. My wife had a great veggie burger but I had the Reuben. It is unlike any other I have ever had. They make their own bread, their own sauerkraut, their own corned beef and their own dressing. It was massive and amazing. We will definitely be back.

Great vegetarian and vegan friendly food. Feels home made with love in it, and the people working there looked happy. I feel that we take on what is put into the food we eat. We will be going back there for sure.

The service was not very good at all my food was cold the husband wife seemed to have issues with one another the wife seemed very unhappy the best thing about all of it was the little waitress we had but I felt very sorry for her I think if they got it together a have something good but they have a long ways to go to get it together

Wow! So this place was awesome! The service was slow, but it was really busy, so that's how it goes! The food was amazing and the people were really nice! They were able to accommodate our food restrictions without any issues. I cannot recommend this place enough, and even though we do not live locally, we will definitely come back whenever we visit Front Royal.

I was looking forward to having lunch with outmrvtwo granddaughters at BWF. It turned out to be a blah experience. There was a shortage of help, the person waiting on us was very frustrated....the menus hadn't been printed, the coffee was lukewarm, had to ask for napkins and coffee spoon. All in all, would not go back. Maybe it was just a bad day for them, but for us it was not one of those "we'll go back" events. Sorry....

I visit this place a lot since I work in the area. I must say their service is always excellent and they keep the place well organized all the time. Rates are convenient and they serve generous portions.
